All services  for intellectual and  developmental disabilities are funded through the Federal Medical Waiver program.   Each State must request this funding through the Federal CMS for approval.  In order to secure the appropriate funding amounts, community based program leaders, advocate, and parents need to inform their local legislators on these types of services and why new and/or more funding is needed.

ABLE accounts are for people with disabilities and their families to save and invest their money for  expenses related to living with a disability.  This program is amazing! Your savings in this account will NOT affect your benefits.  Check it out!

This organization works directly with people with intellectual and Developmental disabilities who desire to learn how to advocate for themselves. 

The ICDD is an organization that is funded by a federal grant to determine current needs of people with intellectual disabilities.  They have a Council that has a strong DD presence and provides advocacy assistance for people seeking community inclusion

TAP is a statewide program that provides free autism training opportunities throughout the state for parents, caregivers, and professionals.
