At CTF Illinois, we create pathways toward independence, a higher quality of life, and economic prosperity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our mission is to empower the people we support to live the life they want to live. We believe that together, our Communities can Transform Futures for people with disabilities. We believe in individuality and hands-on learning, and create person-centered plans of service for each person we support.
We serve 620+ people each year throughout the state of Illinois.
To create a culture where people are not defined by their
differences, but recognized for the value they bring to their
communities
CTF Illinois began in 1971 when special education teacher Charley Smith and his classmate Jerry Meyer recognized the need for employment and support services for people with disabilities. Originally founded as Southwest Community Services, the organization has grown through mergers and now supports 620+ individuals and families across five Illinois counties. For over 50 years, we’ve been committed to empowering people with disabilities to live full, independent lives.
